Patch spraying

Research shows that weeds, including many of the difficult and expensive to control grass weeds, occur mainly in patches. The position of these patches are also relatively stable, so it is possible to record their location once and know this is where they are likely to appear each season.

Customers and environmental groups are increasingly demanding that farmers reduce the use of pesticides and provide detailed records of those that are applied. FIELDSTAR not only provides full automatic control of variable treatments, but also keeps accurate as applied maps at the same time. The terminal’s datalogging ability also allows the position of patches to be monitored and recorded for downloading onto farm management software. This information can then be used as a main component in a variable treatment plan.
